Although most boys schools are considered private, not all private schools are single-sex schools.  A boys school offers different options and programs than a traditional private school. Likewise, a private school can obviously achieve different things than a single-sex boys school.

Boys schools are generally favoured in the UK and some areas of the US.  Studies have found that a boys school produce traits and characteristics in students that would not have happened at a mixed-sex school.  Boys who attend these schools are not as timid or withdrawn with the absence of females.  They do not fear the rejection or intimidation that the opposite sex can produce.  This is one beneficial aspect of a boys school.

A private school can also encourage growth and academic superiority in students.  Just because they may not be single-sex, they are still capable of fostering exceptional learning environments.  Students are challenged at levels not seen in public schools.  Although they face gender issues not seen in boys schools, private schools are still excellent education venues.
